
Cooper Mays
Associate
Cooper focuses his practice in employment law, with an emphasis on wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, and retaliation. He represents both employees and employers in matters arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, including claims involving unpaid overtime, minimum wage violations, and employee misclassification. Cooper also handles employment arbitration cases and is experienced in navigating disputes through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Before joining Jackson Shields Holt Owen & Bryant, Cooper interned in the office of U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, where he gained valuable insight into the legislative process and federal employment policy. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Politics from Freed-Hardeman University in 2021 and his Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2024.
